Manual Tongs

During drilling, manual tongs are employed to make up (assemble) and break out (disassemble) drill strings, allowing for the insertion or removal of drill pipe sections as drilling progresses. Similarly, during casing operations, manual tongs are used to make up and break out casing strings. As casing is lowered into the wellbore, manual tongs are employed to tighten (make up) the connections between individual casing joints to create a continuous casing string. Additionally, when casing needs to be retrieved from the wellbore, manual tongs are utilized to loosen (break out) the connections between casing joints, facilitating their removal.
